About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager Business Insights you will be the primary point of contact for provision of all finance services to designated customer groups (business divisions and departments). This is a true partnership role with a strategic focus to deliver insights to the business.

You will be responsible for the delivery of an effective balance of financial management and reporting. The Senior Finance Business Partner will lead a small team of finance professionals responsible for the delivery of finance services. Day to day responsibilities will include the following:

• Trusted advisor to internal clients to support co-achievement of financial outcomes as the finance lead on the department leadership team.
• Recommend and implement business simplification initiatives, take a lead role in the preparation and quality control of business case developments, and provide support for project management, particularly financial management.
• Lead role in co-ordinating the annual Business Planning and rolling forecasting processes.
• Ensure monthly LT and other reporting is completed on time and to a high standard
• Monitor financial performance by proactively comparing financial activity against budget and providing accurate financial performance information and forecast of expected outcomes
• Manage end-of-month and year end financial processes in accord with Group timetables and accounting.
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and lead a small team of finance professionals
• Ensure high contribution from each team member through role definition, communication of targets, KPI’s and performance and managing

What you’ll need to be successful

• Tertiary qualifications in fields of business, accounting and/or economics.
• Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant
• Experience of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting 
• Strong knowledge of business case development
• Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
• Communication: listening, oral, written
• High level financial analysis, modelling, and business reporting skills
• 10 years’ relevant post graduate business experience including accounting or commercial management role
