Our client is a large, commercially focussed infrastructure organisation currently undergoing structural change and concentrating on improving their overall approach to business management.

There are excellent opportunities to get involved in big ticket projects and help drive efficiencies and business process improvements. 
 
The Opportunity

This is a permanent role leading a high performing, medium sized team who are responsible for commercial Finance Business Partnering and finance systems. Your footprint across the business is expansive and you will get to know the whole business and work in conjunction with a wide cohort of stakeholders.

If you enjoy working beyond the numbers to really understand and add value to an entire entity, this could be a great role for you.  In this position, you will be a key advisor to the Senior Executive, helping shape and influence key business levers, decisions and operations in an ever-changing context.
 
The Role

This role is about leading, analysing, solving problems and enabling business outcomes through astute analysis and financial management in the contract and commercial space.

You will engage with stakeholders right across the business from top to bottom in order to;

  • Prepare options papers which you will then present to Executives, Senior Executives, and Board
  • Perform contract reviews and negotiation
  • Preparation of financial business cases
  • Financial modelling in relation to different decision options
  • Evaluation of investment opportunities and corporate strategy
  • Review Board papers and produce internal advice
  • Construct implications papers on wider business impacts in relation to strategy
  • Work with the business stakeholders as required to inform on strategy and understand outcomes of decision making
  • Management of finance systems and strategy
  • Contracting and corporate structuring advice

The Ideal Person

You are a highly regarded and astute Finance Leader with a demonstrated background in complex commercial businesses that have led to your expertise across commercial analysis, leadership and financial management. 

Being a subject matter expert and wanting to dive in to learn about the business is important to you as it allows you and your team to add value by providing strategic insight and direction to the organisation.   

Given the nature of this role, you will be an outstanding communicator who thrives in creating strong working relationships across business areas to impact change. 

You will enjoy the fact that your insights and expertise have contributed to tangible business outcomes in past (e.g. year on year efficiency gains) and that your role has a tangible and profoundly positive impact on the community you live in.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance as well as membership to CA or CPA is required.

Salary / Rate

The salary range is from $210k - $220k + Super to attract a suitably qualified and highly experienced Senior Finance leader.
