What you will be doing
- Undertaking complex analysis of financial statements from regulated accommodation industries and provide advice and recommendations in relation to financial viability and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Undertaking investigations of a financial nature and report outcomes in relation to regulated accommodation industries, as required.
- Attending site visits and meetings with providers of regulated accommodation industries, as required.
- Participating and/or contributing to national policies, projects and reporting relating to the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
- Participating in reviews of legislation that we regulate, and in particular changes of a financial nature.
- Identifying and contributing to changes or enhancements required to existing policy, processes, analysis, or data capture.
- Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day to day operations.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is desirable but not a mandatory requirement.
- Proven work experience in financial analysis or similar role
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Ability to understand and apply the relevant legislation to the industries we regulate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to work independently to meet set priorities and also to respond to challenges
- Ability to generate and share creative ideas and suggestions for improvement.
