About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Grade 3 Food Service Dietitian to provide dietetic expertise to Food Services within Mercy Health. This position will manage a Food Service workload and provide specialist knowledge and skills in this area.

  • Responsible for providing allergen management, reviewing and updating menus, maintaining relevant menu management system(s).
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and standards are in place to ensure that the nutritional needs of Mercy Health patients are being met.
  • This position will coordinate and supervise quality projects, audits and training of relevant staff.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Master of Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligible for membership of Dietitians Australia and APD status.
  • Experience working in acute or subacute settings with specialist knowledge of hospital Food Services.
  • Knowledge and ability to manage current issues related to food safety and food standards.
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.


You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

● A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
● Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
