Senior Front End React Web Developer

What you'll be doing:
The objective of the Senior Front End React Web Developer is to work closely with the technical lead to transform, develop, mentor and train other developers working on our web products. The role involves developing front-end solutions as directed by the product owners of our web products using leading development practices and cutting-edge technology. This will provide additional value to our guests and improve the overall experience that Virgin Australia provides.
You'll be great in this role if you have:

• Extensive experience with rich JavaScript web application frameworks, such as React
• Solid understanding of frontend technologies
• Strong skills in core JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, tools experience (Gitlab, Jira, Confluence)
• Expertise designing, developing and implementing high performance web applications
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Good understanding of responsive design, browser behaviour, and compatibility
• Experience working with responsive web designs and mobile websites
• Ability to work under pressure, with minimal guidance and prioritise the handling of multiple activities at any one time
• Degree in a relevant area such as information technology

Desirable skills:

• Previous experience in “devops” and continuous delivery
• Previous airline or aviation experience
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels with key internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working in an environment with a high workload and competing priorities
