Purpose of the role
As a frontend developer your responsibilities will include planning, designing, building, and implementing the user interface systems of PADUA software applications. Your primary goal is to provide an awesome user experience. You will create and optimise applications, play an active role in testing and troubleshooting, and resolve issues. You will be the conduit between UX/Design and the backend software developers.
Core responsibilities
- Build and deploy frontend projects for our end users
- Collaborate with other software engineers and stakeholders to build and maintain high quality frontend architecture
- Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data and output requirements with your Manager
- Arrange project requirements by analysing stakeholder requirements, preparing workflow diagrams, and executing programming capabilities to the subject, language and logic.
- Research and suggest possible improvements to our frontend architecture, patterns and conventions for use in all Padua Technology projects
- Assist and mentor team members with implementation of frontend architecture, patterns and conventions
- Participate in Scrum and Agile practices and team presentations and meetings as required.
- Participate in design and code reviews and peer-reviews on a regular basis
- Maintain relevant documentation using Confluence and Git
- Maintain client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, conferences and participating in professional societies.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Demonstrated experience with Angular 9+ (other frameworks such as React also relevant),
- Web development experience (HTML5/CSS3)
- Knowledge of Web APIs
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs (consuming and designing)
- Completed degrees in Information Systems and Technology or Computer Science and Software Engineering or other IT related studies,
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps and Agile development,
- Experience in working within a software development team to build, test and deploy software to end users
- Experience in Project Tracking software (JIRA),
- Experience in using Git & Gitlab for source control,
- Exposure to utilising the AWS suite of Products and Services,
- Above average written and verbal communication skills, and
- Work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
- A keen interest in fintech (preferable).
