About the role

Origin is always looking at developing and supporting cutting-edge IT systems essential for Energy Risk Management and Wholesale & Trading businesses. Our diverse asset portfolio and trading endeavours demand software solutions for seamless interaction with the dynamic energy markets. 
Why the role matters 
As a Senior Functional Analyst, you will be the influence behind our agile delivery group, collaborating closely with developers and testers to continuously enhance our critical business systems. Your role is pivotal in understanding the complexities of our business and leveraging technology to meet evolving needs. 
Your responsibilities will include: 
-Unbridle your expertise in translating business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications. 
-Champion business process improvements aligned with industry best practices. 
-Dive deep into detailed data analysis to uncover hidden insights. 
-Recommend solutions that bridge the gap between available functionality and business needs. 
-Document functional specifications, validate solutions, and engage and guide stakeholders through business showcases, demonstrations and user acceptance testing. 
What will you bring?  
Your passion for Energy markets, analytical expertise, problem solving and eye for detail will set you apart. You'll be a strong communicator, with the ability to effortlessly translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders. You will also demonstrate: 
-Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business IT, or related disciplines. 
-Demonstrated experience in business and IT environments. 
-Proficiency in Agile methodologies and SQL. 
-A profound understanding of trading and risk management, or within the energy or banking industry would also be preferred.
