MPI have partnered with a Teir 1 gold mining company, and we are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of their mining operations through expert geotechnical analysis, design, and monitoring.The Role
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments to evaluate ground conditions.
- Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and implementation of geotechnical solutions for open pit and underground mining operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall mine planning and design processes.
- Conduct slope stability analyses and prepare geotechnical reports.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the geotechnical team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Geotechnical Engineering for mining.
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering for mining projects.
- Extensive experience in slope stability analysis, rock mechanics, and ground support design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and modelling tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
