About the Role
The Senior GIS Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of GIS data, information, and analysis related to disaster risk. This role is integral in providing insights to support the development of strategies, planning, and advisory services for disaster adaptation, mitigation, and reconstruction efforts. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to various cross-government projects, planning initiatives, and coordination efforts.
This role requires you to attend the Parramatta office on Wednesdays, with the rest of the week WFH.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of GIS data, information, and analysis related to disaster risk.
- Provide strategic input to inform the development of disaster management strategies.
- Lead the development of floodplain assets spatial databases, enhancing disaster preparedness efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively communicate GIS-related insights and drive decision-making.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables through rigorous quality assurance processes.
- Operate within tight timelines to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing GIS data and analysis in disaster risk management contexts.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide workflow and provide direction to team members.
- Proficiency in GIS software and spatial analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work under pressure.
