Our client is offering an opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Hardware Engineer to work with and potentially lead a team on exciting cardiac biomedical engineering projects in the area of diagnostic cardiac pacing and arrhythmia treatment.
This is a long established successful company located in Sydney with a global reach, a leader in cardiac stimulation in the US market, partnering with companies like GE Healthcare and Boston Scientific.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electronic circuit design of biomedical analogue and embedded digital circuits in the fields of intra-cardiac ECG, pacing and defibrillation type devices.
- Schematic capture, BOM and to lesser degree PCBA layout and specification using Altium Designer 18.
- Ability to interface and integrate the hardware with custom embedded firmware and software in a distributed system.
- Experience in transfer of design to production facilities in a small company environment
- Excellent teamwork, working to tight schedules in a semi-agile environment, with opportunity for team leadership for right candidate.
- Thorough documenting of design in a quality environment, development of detailed specifications, working with test and quality engineers on verification and validation procedures, and thorough documentation practices.
- Rapid prototyping and debugging using common laboratory tools and equipment.
- Work within defined ISO13485 QMS, ISO14971 Risk Management system, and according to applicable regulatory and industry best practice and standards, including FDA, CE mark, EN60601-1:2006 and collaterals, and ISO62304 Software Life cycle.
- Root cause and risk analysis, participation in design reviews.
- Experience in Hardware, Software and Firmware
- Recent previous experience in a Senior engineering role (1-3 years)
- Minimum of 5 year's experience in designing and product transfer to manufacture in a highly professional, controlled engineering environment
- Strong ability to work as part of a team is essential
- Desirable to have experience in Biomedical engineering in small to medium companies with experience and interest developing a broad talent stack.
- Relevant engineering bachelor's degree
