This vacancy is a Permanent Part-Time appointment at 38 hours (0.5FTE) per fortnight.

About this role

This position leads and manages allocated Health Promotion programs in North Metropolitan Health Service service wide; coordinates the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of interventions; provides leadership in the development of partnerships within communities and with other key stakeholders.

The North Metropolitan Health Service - Health Promotion works across the NMHS catchment area and aims to keep the population healthy by preventing chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, respiratory disease and some cancers) and injury.  The Service has a population-wide approach and focuses on the main lifestyle risk factors causing the greatest burden of disease: smoking; poor diet; harmful alcohol use; overweight and obesity; and physical inactivity. Health Promotion professionals identify the causes of these risk factors and work collaboratively with local organisations and community to find ways to address them.

This role reports to the Manager Health Promotion.

We are seeking highly motivated Senior Health Promotion Officer with substantial experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of Health Promotion programs. Experience in effective application of Health Promotion concepts and principles is essential to this role.
