Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Requirements of the role include:
- Assist with the development and implementation of Health, Safety and Training Annual Plan and Systems to comply with legal & company requirements;
- Provide on the ground support for HST projects and initiatives driven by Glencore HST teams;
- Assist in the maintaining and updating of the site SHMS to met site requirements
- Manage the Health and Risk components within the HST Team;
- Monitor compliance with relevant legal & corporate requirements within area of responsibility;
- Demonstrate a highly visible on-site presence and commitment to implementation of HST policies, strategy, standards, systems, processes and interactions.
- Maintain and continually improve systems that demonstrate regular safety audits are conducted in all operational areas of the mine.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Safety, Occupational Hygiene or other related discipline;
- Previous experience in Mining, Construction or other Heavy Industry is desirable;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills;
- Ability to liase and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders;
- Attention to Detail;
- Lead a high performing team; and
- Exhibit a positive attitude.
