About the role
As Senior Horticulturalist, you will be part of the Open Space team, and will be responsible for developing and managing high quality horticultural programs in our strategic parks.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Horticultural maintenance programs to enhance parks and in particular cultural and historic elements
- Use of and maintenance of equipment, plant and chemicals ensuring safety at all times
- Coordinate and direct work teams, contractors, materials and machinery
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current QLD ACDC Licence or equivalent
- General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card
- Current C Class Licence
Desirable:
- Certificate IV Horticulture Studies and/or relevant experience
- Current LR Class Licence

FIT Testing for respiratory protection equipment:
Workers must pass a respirator fit test before they first start wearing a tight-fitting respirator and at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean-shaven or only have facial hair that doesn’t interfere with the fitting surfaces and the valve of the respirator.
Q Fever Immunisation:
- If you have already been immunised, you will be required to provide your immunisation certification/certificate
- If you are not already immunised, you will need to undertake this immunisation and provide certification prior to commencing in the position
A pre employment medical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
About the benefits
This is a full time permanent position at LGE Level 7 - 9 with a salary commencing at $68,344 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
