The Opportunity

Are you an experienced HSEQ professional with a passion for driving operational focus and fostering a safety-conscious culture? We are on the lookout for a top-tier candidate to fill the critical role of Senior HSEQ Manager at Mirait Technologies Australia. As the Senior HSEQ Manager, you will lead HSEQ initiatives, develop and implement training programs and awareness campaigns, and guarantee adherence to industry standards and relevant systems, policies, and procedures. You'll play a key role in nurturing a safety-focused culture, promoting best practices, and instilling a steadfast commitment to HSEQ excellence. The Company

Mirait Technologies Australia is a leader in the Telecommunications and Energy infrastructure construction and maintenance space. With a focus on delivering superior outcomes to our customers, we are looking for an experienced Senior HSEQ Manager to join our team.


The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior HSEQ Manager is responsible for driving a strong operational focus on HSEQ matters. This position is instrumental in coaching and mentoring field-based resources, ensuring compliance with relevant systems, policies, and procedures, and fostering a safety-focused culture. Collaborating closely with the HSEQ Systems and Compliance Manager, the Senior HSEQ Manager will provide leadership, direction, and expertise on HSEQ requirements while actively pursuing strategies to enhance HSEQ performance and effectiveness across the business.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead and champion HSEQ initiatives within MTA, aligning them with business objectives, and collaborate with field-based resources to provide practical coaching and mentorship, fostering a safety-conscious environment.
  • Ensure HSEQ adherence of operational resources including ongoing monitoring and assessment of field-based compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, safe work procedures and internal guidelines.
  • Develop and implement training programs and awareness campaigns to educate and engage employees in HSEQ matters, promoting best practices and instilling a commitment to HSEQ excellence.
  • Conduct safety audits, investigations, inspections and hazard identification assessment, introducing risk management programs as required.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance HSEQ capability and performance by analysing data, conducting inspections, and gathering feedback from stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies, programs, and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in field based HSEQ performance. Other responsibilities may include but is not limited to the following: completion of field inspections, handling variations, conducting toolbox meetings and safety audits, preparing reports and documentation as required.

You:

To secure an interview for this great local opportunity, it is desirable to meet the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management).
  • Extensive HSEQ construction management experience
  • Proven experience in a senior HSEQ leadership role within a construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HSEQ programs and initiatives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Construction Induction - White Card.
