Senior Hull and Structures Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hull and Structures Engineer to join a dynamic team in the critical role of Design Acceptance Representative (DAR).

As a Senior Hull and Structures Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Platform Integration designs adhere to specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership and establish a governance framework for ship Hull and Structures.
• Collaborate with external subcontractors to ensure strict adherence to the governance framework.
• Obtain and hold the Design Acceptance Representative (DAR) engineering delegation for Hull and Structures Engineering.
• Ensure projects comply with statutory obligations, conform to ADF regulatory requirements, and meet the technical requirements of the project.
• Review artefacts to ensure compliance with SPO Engineering Delivery process.
• Monitor the technical risk of each project and articulate it within reports and meetings/forums.
• Develop, review, and endorse Technical Risks associated with Engineering Changes

About You:

• Australian Citizen and must have an active Defence security clearance.
• High degree of understanding of ship Hull and Structures and design practices.
• Familiarity with current rules and regulations on ship Hull and structure.
• Good understanding of Structural design considering sea-going loads, fatigue, shock, and vibration loads.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing and fabrications methods including welding, surface preparation, and preservation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously.
• Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain necessary deliverables.
• Degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as Naval Architecture or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and hold the Design Acceptance Representative (DAR) engineering delegation for Hull and Structures Engineering.
• Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
