The role: 

We currently have an opportunity for a talented Senior Human Resources Manager to join our Northern Operations HR function. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources your key objectives will be to partner with the organisation to drive people initiatives, engagement activities and a high performing culture.

Role responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic Human Resources plans and policies that support CareFlight’s mission, vision and guiding principles
  • Proactively working with the Head of Human Resources to cultivate positive working relationships
  • Providing insights and commercially astute solutions and advise on HR projects and activities.
  • Fulfil the role of DAMP supervisor, ensuring CareFlight’s DAMP policy and matters of compliance are met within the Northern Operations, including oversight of the pre-employment (and random) drug and alcohol testing for new and current employees
  • Provide coaching and advice to leaders and employees on policy matters to ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective workplace management practices in accordance with relevant legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and policies
  • In collaboration with the Head of Human Resources, assist Managers with workforce planning, remuneration benchmarking, and related matters for tenders and proposals
  • Actively participating as a member of the Shadow Executive Committee, when required

To be successful in this role you will have the following: 

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, or relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years generalist experience and influencing at management level
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulation
  • Experience leading enterprise bargaining negotiations from start to finish
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Highly developed communication, listening, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and practical use of change management methodologies and activities
  • Problems solving through analysis and facilitation
  • Sound judgement and ability to work with and connect with people, maintain confidentiality and develop effective working relationships with others
  • The willingness and ability to handle a busy workload to deadlines and work reasonable additional hours in order to get the job done 

 Desirable

  • Prior experience gained from the not-for-profit, aviation or medical sectors
  • Development and delivery of leadership development programs or similar will be highly desirable
