Senior Infrastructure Build Specialist

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Build Specialist to successfully design, build, and co-ordinate implementation of physical, virtual and cloud servers for a number of high priority ICT projects. The engagement may require you to work concurrently on multiple projects.

You will be assigned work for initiatives approved for the ICT Projects directorate’s program of works. All projects, and project members, are led by a Project Manager. The Build Specialist will be situated within Department’s Cloud and Automation Services team and take operational direction from the team’s Technical Lead.

As the Senior Infrastructure Build Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the development of automated server operating system builds for physical, virtual and cloud servers which support business operations of partner agencies.
• Plan and manage the implementation of physical servers, virtual servers, cloud servers, storage infrastructure that is consistent with detailed designs, delivery of self-service portals and supervise capacity management of virtual server and storage infrastructure to meet business needs.
• Plan and manage implementation of processes and procedures, tools and techniques for designing and implementing Virtual and Storage solutions.
• Plan the use of techniques, methodologies and tools to match future business requirements.
• Analyse and resolve design and implementation issues within a complex ICT infrastructure environment for the agencies supported by Department.

Essential requirements:

Experience with:

• Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, Devops)
• Operating Systems - Windows Server 2003 through to 2019/2022, RedHat (7.x to 9.x), Linux
• On-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs
• Virtual Infrastructure (VMware ESX/ESXi5.x/6.x/7.x/8.x, vCentre, SRM, View)
• Physical server OS install over network
• Domain Name System (DNS) and DNS infrastructure
• Scripting (PowerShell)
• Directory Services (Group Policy)
• Active Directory

Desirable requirements:

Experience with:

• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher etc)
• Windows Clustering / Network Load Balancing
• Windows Distributed File System
• ADFS / DHCP / WINS
• Scripting (Bash)
• Basic networking - administration (f5, basic switches, router, and firewalls)
• Monitoring/Alerting (SCOM)
• ITIL qualification.
