Position Overview:
As a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining contemporary platforms for a groundbreaking capability bringing cutting-edge technology into Defence. You will lead the technical design and implementation of Infrastructure-as-code solutions, ensuring the availability and reliability of systems critical for the business to operate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and implementation of Infrastructure-as-code-based solutions and networks.
- Support and maintain on-premise and cloud environments, servers, storage, security, and network infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are available and fit for purpose for the business to operate effectively.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure to support critical business processes.
- Provide input into system designs and architecture.
- Implement technologies in accordance with vendor, security, and architectural best practices.
- Coordinate the development of software DevOps pipelines with projects.
- Demonstrate a high level of written and verbal stakeholder communication.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with cloud and cloud provisioning tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, Azure CLI/ARM/Bicep).
- Proficiency with containers (Docker, Podman) and associated orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Swarm).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Ruby, Javascript, Go).
- Previous experience in software release, production, SRE, or DevOps engineering.
- Infrastructure management experience, including Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Databases (Mysql, PostgreSQL), and Networking and software-defined networking.
- Australian Government Security Clearance of Top Secret Negative Vetting (NV2) or preferably a Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance.

Desirable Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Relevant specialist systems administration short courses or project certifications.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- Experience managing and deploying container-based applications on k8S or PaaS platforms.
