We are now accepting applications for a positive, forward thinking Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne.Reporting to the Infrastructure & Platforms Manager and as a key member of the Infrastructure & Platforms team, you will have a key role in building, developing, operating and managing QinetiQ's high technology infrastructure and platforms.As Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be accountable for:
- Installing, configuring, supporting and managing the lifecycle of infrastructure equipment and devices across the QinetiQ estate
- Coordinating the effective and timely application of updates and patches to infrastructure equipment, devices, servers and other infrastructure
- Service ownership of assigned QinetiQ infrastructure services
- Establishing key performance indicators to ensure infrastructures are monitored
- Managing the operational integrity of QinetiQ's IT infrastructures, ensuring availability, integrity and security
- Supporting IT Leadership with communication to business regarding service availability, incidents and change
- Assuming leadership responsibilities within the Infrastructure and Platforms team, when the Manager is away or on leave
- Planning and executing infrastructure related maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Actively contributing to the definition, development and maintenance of infrastructure and platform policies, procedures and standards
- Seasoned experience in a similar IT Administration or Infrastructure role with a strong and diverse set of IT technical skills within the IT Infrastructure domain
- Proven experience in the planning, design, development and implementation of major/complex IT infrastructures
- Extensive knowledge of M365/Azure platforms and systems
- A strong understanding of cyber and information security principles and how these are applied in an operational environment
- Experience in the development and maintenance of infrastructure and technology roadmaps
- Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
- Working knowledge/understanding of ITIL principles
- Experience working within compliance frameworks such as UK's Cyber essentials (Plus), Australia's ISM, NIST, ISO27001, ITAR and export control
