Fortescue Hydrogen Systems, Product Development team, is presently seeking an experienced Senior EIC Engineer to join our fast paced and high performing team to design cutting edge green hydrogen production systems.
In this role you will be working with a team of engineers in the Balance of Plant team developing and operating hydrogen test plants.
The candidate should be highly experienced in technical Instrument Control (IC) engineering, be a self-starter, and be able to deliver all IC deliverables from early concept, into detail design, all the way through to supporting the plant in operations. The candidate will have strong functional safety and hazardous area experience for the design of new and existing Prototype Hydrogen Balance of plants
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for delivering all IC Engineering Deliverables for project, including IC design for P&IDs, preparation of control narratives, logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, cause & effects, instrument data sheets, plant functional specification, etc.
Strong knowledge of DCS, SIS, PLC, SCADA, and network systems.
Define IC engineering specifications and then lead design against specification.
Effectively manage and provide guidance to Systems Integrator.
Evaluate, engage, and manage instrument design selection for suitable application to drive procurement.
Be a team leader in functional safety and hazardous area design to guide Product Development team.
Strong experience with contributing to HAZOPs, LOPAS, SIL studies and other risk assessments.
Working with other team members to assist in establishing agreed project scopes of work, schedules, checklists, and reporting mechanisms to meet the project needs.
A strong capability in adapting to multidisciplinary requirements in particular understanding engineering principles and communicating a range of Engineering concepts across a range of expertise.
A strong focus on safety and safe work practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary engineering qualifications (Electrical/ Instrument Control Engineering).
Minimum 10 years of detailed design experience in Oil & Gas.
Competent both Electrical and Instrument Control Engineering.
Hazardous Area Classification & Design qualification.
TUV Functional Safety trained engineer.
Hydrogen Experience preferred.
Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing, preferably in hazardous area environments.
Experience dealing with Regulators such as DMIRs and Energy Safety preferred.
