this role will provide specialist quality advice and end-to-end case management on all matters associated with information access legislation, privacy compliance, administrative and other complaint reviews or investigations, insurance claims and ethical matters.

- Maintain Knowledge of Changes: Keep up-to-date with changes in government and industry relevant to integrity and information, including legislative changes and industry best practices.
- Provide Advice and Education: Offer advice, guidance, and education to other branches regarding governance, integrity, and information services and practices.
- Manage and Support Legislative Responses: Handle the end-to-end process for responding to applications made under various legislation, ensuring compliance with statutory and departmental obligations.
- Exercise Decision-Making Powers: Utilize decision-making powers as set out in the departments’ delegations register or authorisations framework.
- Support Case Management: Assist in managing complex conflicts of interest and gift declarations, ensuring all statutory obligations are met.
- Resolve Complex Complaints and Claims: Help the Integrity and Information Coordinator address and resolve escalated complaints and insurance claims according to departmental policy and procedures.
- Interpret and Apply Legislation: Apply relevant legislation and case law to manage cases effectively, ensuring sound legal decisions.
- Investigate and Determine Liability: Analyze and determine the departments' liability in claims, using expertise in insurance law and tort knowledge.
- Evaluate Liability and Correspondence: Assess the departments' liability and potential settlement amounts, and prepare related correspondence, including decision notices and communications with stakeholders and agencies.
- Provide Specialist Advice and Support: Offer specialized advice on information access legislation, privacy compliance, review, and ethical matters to departmental officers and external stakeholder
- Progression towards qualifications (Diploma Level) or equivalent extensive practical experience in complaints management / insurance claims administration, information access management and / or integrity functions in a large, highly regulated organization (ideally local or State Government) is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Law, or substantial demonstrated experience related to the role - highly desirable
- Previous experience in a simmialr role
- Can pass a Police Check
- Has a QLD drivers License
- Can start within 2 weeks
