About The Role
In this role the Senior Internal Auditor will perform assurance and consulting engagements, with the objective of evaluating and improving the effectiveness of Kelsian's governance, risk management and control environment.
This position can be based in Adelaide or Brisbane.
About You
The successful candidate will possess excellent internal audit skills inclusive of understanding and applying auditing standards, with an emphasis on internal audit activities, exercising professional judgement and consideration of quality, risk and commercial aspects. You will be a strong, proactive and resilient leader with a successful track record in building and managing relationships, encouraging creative thinking and influencing and managing through others to deliver positive results.
Senior Internal Auditor Responsibilities:
- Develop the draft audit scope document for reviews assigned from the Audit Plan. Develop the objective, risks, approach (including the use of data analytics) for assurance and consulting engagements to enable effective engagement planning.
- Perform assurance engagements ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment, compliance with Company policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Develop preliminary findings using root cause analysis.
- Work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified and follow-up with management to ensure remediation is implemented.
- Prepare accurate, logical and detailed workpapers clearly describing the work performed, test results and conclusions reached.
- Draft high-quality audit report for discussion with stakeholders and Senior Audit Manager.
- Undertake consulting and advisory engagements to provide proactive advice to management to facilitate continuous improvement and contribute to best practice processes, systems, and controls.
- Maintain an awareness of audit trends and “best practices”.
- Support the development of the Audit Plan.
- Interact with company’s key stakeholders to build / maintain ongoing business relationships by utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Senior Internal Auditor Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in internal/external audit (either from Big 4 or large, complex business or combination of both)
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in working with and delivering results within tight deadlines.
- Advanced data analytics skills, with demonstrated experience in a range of IT Audits
- Ability to travel (mostly domestic) approximately 10% – 20%.
- Must hold PR or Australian Citizenship; no Visa support/sponsorship or transfers will be offered.
