Salary - $106,025 -- $117,363 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and leave loading.
Your role
This is a unique opportunity for a proactive and dedicated Senior Investigator to join the team located on Long Bay Complex, Malabar.
In this role, the Senior Investigator will lead and conduct assessments, and targeted/critical investigations as directed by the Investigations Manager, provide professional support and actively interprets legislation through research, collation and analysis of information and the provision of advice, assessment and reports in accordance to organisational guidelines, for the protection of public interest and identification of risks.
The role forms an integral part of the Professional Standard and Investigations Branch, ensuring the efficient and effective conduct of Corrective Services NSW core functions.
What you'll do
The key responsibilities of the Senior Investigator include:
Conduct timely investigations into matters of interest and sensitive incidents and provide evidence-based reports and/or findings for senior management.
Conduct analytical risk-assessments and prepare reports and/or findings for systems and procedural deficiencies and also for the Professional Standards Committee (PSC)'s consideration prior to moving on any proposed disciplinary actions.
Alert the branch senior management on any contingency and incidental issues that may emerge as part of the investigations.
Provide advice, recommendations and statistics to senior management on matters for sound decision making purposes.
Monitor and address enquiries, including those that are escalated, to resolve them in a timely and professional manner.

Self-Motivated, can hit the ground running and work collaboratively to achieve the outlined goals and objective with all relevant stakeholders.
Tenacious, persistent and positive during times of change and pressure. Tenacity to manage personal impact of exposure to confronting material in the course of duties which can be of a sexual, graphic and violent nature.
Essential Requirements
Relevant experience in the conduct of misconduct and other investigations in a public sector environment
Certificate IV in Government Investigations or completion within 12 months of commencement in role
Current driver licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
Capacity and willingness to be on call and travel at short notice to respond to critical incidents and spend periods away from own residence
Knowledge of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE), rules of evidence, civil and administrative procedures and the machinery of government
