An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Operations Specialist to join our Infinity Capital Solutions team in our Sydney or Melbourne, CBD office.

The Team – Infinity Capital Solutions

Infinity Capital Solutions (ICS) is the solutions arm of VFGL and is committed to designing, building, and delivering institutional-grade investment solutions and digital tools that help our clients achieve their desired outcomes.

You will be working closely with Infinity Asset Management our award-winning specialist investment manager capability, that offers a diverse range of separately managed accounts and unit trust solutions for wholesale and retail clients.

About the Role

The Senior Investment Operations Specialist is a newly created role that will be pivotal in overseeing various aspects of Investment Operations, focusing on cash flow management, pre-trade guideline monitoring, post-trade reconciliations, and collaboration with external service providers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and enhancing operational procedures and frameworks, ensuring compliant, efficient, and accurate process and reporting. Additionally, the role involves facilitating seamless settlements with brokers, managing relationships with outsourced registries, fund accounting, and custody partners.

The Senior Investment Operations Specialist will also contribute to providing investment data to third parties, including rating agencies, investment platforms, and industry data providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Cash flow management: daily monitoring and management.
• Portfolio guideline monitoring: conduct pre-trade guideline monitoring to ensure compliance with investment mandates.
• Post-trade reconciliation and reporting: perform post-trade reconciliations to validate and ensure accurate trade settlements and report, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies.
• External stakeholder engagement: establish and maintain effective relationships with outsourced registries, fund accounting, and custody partners.
• Business process improvement and operations optimisation: continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
• Data provision to third parties: collaborate with the investment team to gather and provide investment data to third parties including rating agencies, investment platforms and industry data providers.
• Compliance and risk management: identify, escalate, and mitigate operational risks associated with Investment Operations. This function will be liaising with the Group’s governance, risk, and compliance to assist investments with their mandate reporting and the overall risk management framework.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Investment Operations or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Investment Operations, cash flow management, and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of investment instruments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in relevant software and tools.
