Job description

Lack of opportunities to lead in a project management environment?

Maybe you’ve been looking for the right platform to mentor other Project Managers, shape better ways of working, and lead interesting projects.

Not forgetting the decompression time to unzip the day’s events, and the support you need to develop best practice.

We hear you. As a Senior IT Project Manager at Water Corporation, you’ll have the stage to perform on.

What the role will offer:

Working in the heart of Perth’s best cosmopolitan hub, our Leederville office is only a skip, hop and a jump from the Leederville train station.

In this role, you can make time for what is important to you, with our great flexible work arrangement options including working from home or maybe flexible start and finish times, 9 day a fortnight.

Other benefits include but limited to:

  • Real flexibility with options to work from home, flexible work hours
  • Two well-being days each year to do whatever you need to do to feel good
  • Access to long service leave pro rata after 3 years of service
  • Generous co-contribution superannuation up to 13%
  • Purchase additional leave of up to 4 weeks
  • Employee Assistance Program

About you:

There are a few things that we’ll look for in your CV;

As a Senior Project Manager, you’re the type of leader who understands the importance of building a culture of excellence. You know the importance of supporting your colleagues and other stakeholders across a large business. It’s why people recognise you as someone who has that fine balance of determination to get things done, as well as someone who bats for their team.

You plan well and you’ve a knack for forecasting what’s needed, who’s needed and how much money is needed. You know how to sew all this together and report the financials back to people through planning systems like SAP, SAS, or another BI platform.

Ideally, you’ll have a firm track record of delivering IT capital projects, or sometimes multiple projects

You don’t necessarily need to have come from a specific background, but if you’ve previous experience working in IT , transformation or for a utility, bank or other government organisations, we’d be keen to have a chat.

And, finally, you’ll be that person who advocates for the best PM methodologies and backs your team to achieve this.

What will your work look like?

Your work will impact 8 different groups, 50+ functions and nearly 4,000 employees every day.

You’ll join a team of 20 and you’ll lead IT projects that are making positive changes right across the organisation. You’ll build project artefacts, frameworks and processes that help people work smarter and think more creatively.

Forget the transactional work that rarely makes a difference. You’ll be part of a centralised Project Management team that’s improving PM methodologies and standardising better ways of working.

All the usual PM stuff applies – Planning, risk, financial management, reporting, people, delivering projects for the strategic benefit of our organisation

Enough about what’s involved - what’s in this for you?

This is a supportive environment. People listen to each other, everyone delivers as a team, and you’ll feel like everyone has your back. This creates a knock-on effect where you’ll feel happy supporting the team and your manager to build a Centre of Excellence.

Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.

As part of the recruitment process you may be required to complete pre-employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.

Applications close 17 June 2024

We reserve the right to withdraw this ad prior to the closing date.
