About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Journalist/Producer for our WIN News service, based in Hobart. Working in a regional newsroom offers an experience like no other, allowing you the opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on all rounds. This environment allows you to make a difference in news and is truly rewarding work.

Reporting to the State News Director, you will be responsible for researching, compiling and producing high quality news stories for our weekday news bulletins. You'll liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm.

About you:
To be the successful candidate, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification with an extensive journalism background and an understanding of the importance of compiling impactful bulletins.
  • Sound working knowledge of daily process in a television newsroom.
  • Experience developing a strong editorial strategy, and managing a culture whereby the drive to succeed and lead the market exists.
  • Demonstrated superior communication and relationship building skills, as well as a thorough understanding of Media Law.
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to the operations and working relationships.
  • Ability to contribute ideas and demonstration initiative and flexibility.
  • Demonstrated positive work ethic and the ability and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to take steps to solve a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
  • Must hold the right to work in Australia.
