The Sydney Dental School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer – Clinical Education. This position is crucial in making significant contribution to teaching and learning practice and engages in educational leadership within the school.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
undertake a leadership role in the coordination of dentistry clinical practice placements, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomes
engage in supervision of dental students in clinical settings
develop and maintain relationships with placement stakeholders to ensure operational success
manage a team of clinical educators
engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University’s expectations and standards for education-focused staff
design and deliver quality educational experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements
apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice.
About you:
AHPRA registration as a dentist
Recent experience in clinical dentistry
Relevant experience with clinical supervision of students
PhD in a relevant area of dentistry and health (desirable)
a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline
experience in supervising or mentoring others
experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching and teaching in a variety of settings.
