About the Role:
Lecturers contribute to the teaching, learning and related academic development activities of IHM as well as developing scholarship, research, and professional activities relevant to their specific Nursing discipline specialisations or interests. Through strong academic support and knowledge, lecturers liaise with students, support staff and other academic colleagues to maintain excellence in teaching, engagement, and support within the Institute. Lecturers also contribute to scholarly curriculum development and are proficient in teaching, tutoring, and clinical facilitation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Undertake teaching and assessment of postgraduate students
- Undertake scholarship and research activities
- Provide input into the development of new teaching resources
- Supervise students undertaking projects
- Participate in team projects and various committees as required
- Refer students to personal and academic support services relevant to their needs
- Monitor learning and identify students requiring support
- Attendance at IHM meetings as required
Essential Criteria:
- Masters’ qualification in the relevant discipline or equivalent.
- Advance HE Fellowship is desirable
- Relevant teaching qualifications in higher education is desirable.
- Professional Registration in the relevant discipline, as applicable
- Clinical experience in a relevant discipline.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in higher education is desirable.
- Relevant experience in curriculum quality and reviews in a tertiary environment is desirable.
