ABOUT THE OFFICE
The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing programs that are highly regarded by the profession and a range of postgraduate coursework and nursing research programs. The School benefits from strong relationship with industry with some post graduate programs offered as industry partnerships. Graduates from the School of Nursing are well respected by the profession.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key position in the School of Nursing to teach and course coordinate courses in both the undergraduate and post graduate programs and teach in other undergraduate and post graduate programs as determined by discipline knowledge and expertise. This position also supports high quality teaching that is informed by research and incorporates innovative online learning activities and assessments to ensure a high level of student satisfaction and pastoral care.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver, develop and coordinate courses on offer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
- Support ongoing curriculum development and quality assurance processes for all aspects of internal and where appropriate external accreditation requirements for the School.
- Lead quality activities including peer review and benchmarking activities and course review.
- Perform interim and summative evaluations of courses and make recommendation about relevant changes required.
- Work collaboratively with other academic staff members to ensure coherence and quality in all aspects of the academic program.
- Attend School meetings as required and participate in school and university wide committees and activities as required.
- Carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarship and research expertise relevant to the discipline, actively contributing to the research culture of the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Postgraduate qualification in nursing or a relevant discipline
- Possess a PhD coupled with successful supervisory experience
- Current nurse registration with Ahpra
- Have at least 5 years clinical nursing experience and extensive experience in academia
- A demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management
- Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skill with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Have experience in teaching in the clinical nursing environment, either to peers or student nurses.
