As a Senior Legal Counsel you will be providing legal expertise towards commercial decision making and ensuring that all operations for RAC are conducted within acceptable parameters highlighting business risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
What would a typical day look like?
- Providing astute legal advice and pragmatic solutions to RAC business units, project teams and cross functional working groups to help them achieve their business goals
- Providing advice on regulatory and compliance matters, including in the areas of privacy, data protection, disputes, contract interpretation and other applicable legislative requirements
- Supporting and assisting business units in relation to contract preparation, negotiation and contract management
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing general commercial contracts, forms and standard terms and conditions, as they relate to the goods and services provided by the business units
- Drafting and negotiating e a variety of IT contracts, including cloud-based agreements
- Reviewing and advising on leases
- Advising business units on legal risk related to contracts
- Preparing customer-facing terms and conditions for new RAC products and services.
- Assisting with preparation and negotiation of corporate transaction documentation (e.g. shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, constitutions)
- Engaging and managing external Legal Counsel as required
- Assisting in developing legal precedents
- Significant post admission legal experience in-house or in private practice, with corporate / commercial focus
- Tertiary qualifications in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) is mandatory
- Current Western Australian Practising Certificate is mandatory
- Proactive, practical and business minded approach
- Demonstrated work experience in top tier or in-house Legal Counsel team
- Experience in preparing and negotiating various commercial contracts.
