As a Legal Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the legal team in various practice areas. Your organisational skills, attention to detail and knowledge will contribute to the smooth running of the firm.
Duties:
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organising meetings.
- Provide exceptional administrative support for relevant people
- Assist with drafting and formatting legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
- Proficient in typing, proofreading, editing, and finalizing documents for distribution or filing.
- Assist in maintaining client files and databases, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Handle phone calls, emails and inquiries and direct them to appropriate contacts
- Liaise with clients, barristers, courts, doctors for information/ scheduling/ provision of information etc.
- Assist with billing and accounting tasks, such as preparing invoices, tracking billable hours, and processing client payments.
- During court proceedings, you may provide support to attorneys by organising exhibits, taking notes, and managing logistics.
- Generate precedent letters
- 2-3 years experience as a Legal Secretary in personal injury law is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal software applications
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work
- Professional demeanour and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility with changing priorities and ability to work under pressure
