The role
The Senior Licensing Officer is responsible for the management of applications for licences and approvals, and includes performing technical assessments and the exercise of legislative delegations under public health legislation.
You will:
- Provide leadership and management of licensing staff, ensuring applications are processed in a quality, efficient and timely manner.
- Perform technical assessments of applications for licences and approvals and exercise legislative delegations.
- Manage the licensing function of the Branch including providing advice on licensing policy, developing business processes, procedures, and quality assurance activities.
- Manage licensing revenue to ensure that licensing related fees are accounted for in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development, review and implementation of strategic and operational plans that link with Unit outcomes.
You will have demonstrated:
- knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Health Protection licensing functions, systems and practices.
- understanding and high-level ability to apply contemporary leadership principles to develop and maintain an effective and motivated team in a changing environment with a client service orientation.
- well-developed interpersonal, communication and consultative skills.
- well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to licensing functions and systems.
