About you
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer (Team Leader) to establish, ensure, and maintain the ongoing operational excellence of our client's internally managed databases, server, and storage environment with a focus on resilience, reliability, recoverability, and security.
The role is located in North Sydney.
About the role
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Design and implement solutions across Linux, database, backup, and storage platforms.
- Manage system performance in various environments including production and disaster recovery.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and standards.
- Provide infrastructure support and manage incident resolutions.
- Develop and test disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor system performance and capacity management.
- Develop Linux administration standards.
- Manage and resolve Linux system issues.
- Provide out-of-hours support as part of a 24x7 rotating roster.
- Manage a team of Linux and Database administrators.
- Document processes for service continuity.
- Support the Infrastructure Manager in operational management
- Expertise in Linux operating systems including deployment and automation.
- 5-10 years of operational experience in enterprise-class Linux administration.
- Proficiency in scripting (shell, Perl, Python) and automation technologies (puppet, ansible).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of virtualisation (including open source & VMWare), hardware, backup, and storage.
- Experience with Oracle engineered systems including Exadata and Oracle Cloud
- Management of enterprise backup using Veritas NetBackup with NetBackup appliances
