The Opportunity
The Senior Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the implementation and rollout of injection specific production and operational requirements. This role will be the subject matter expert relating to the injection moulding process at the Wangara site. Key duties include:
- Monitor duties carried out by production staff
- Respond and prioritize breakdowns and repairs in a prompt manner
- Consult with production personnel to determine equipment operating and maintenance needs
- Ensure safe operating conditions exist throughout the facilities and promptly correcting any unsafe conditions
- Coordinate maintenance contractors whilst they are conducting work on site
- Ensuring that at all times you maintain the requirements set out in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Ensure machine setup and operation is at optimal performance
- Monitor machine performance and minimize unplanned downtime
- Ensure all preventable and scheduled maintenance are completed in a timely manner
- Identifies parts needed and maintain inventory of parts in stockroom
- Develop the proper control procedures for maintenance such as work orders, work schedules, plant and equipment register and preventative maintenance schedule
- Ensuring Injection operators are aware of their key responsibilities and are held accountable in achieving these
- Coaching and developing the team
To be successful in this role you have:
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualification with a background in a similar role
- Experience in high tempo on-demand production within an FMCG environment
- Extensive experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC and hold a restricted electrical license
- Experience in PM and SM delivery
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment and work under pressure
