This role is responsible for all financial accountabilities relating to Phriendly Phishing, along with sales and business operations.

The Role
This role is responsible for all financial accountabilities relating to Phriendly Phishing, along with sales and business operations and is key in helping drive performance improvement and growth for Phriendly Phishing, across revenue, profitability, cashflow, commercial governance, and ensuring Phriendly Phishing is commercially successful.
In addition, you will support implementation of strategic plans to ensure the successful delivery of Phriendly Phishing’s vision and strategy and are responsible for determining operational efficiencies relating to business performance, with accountability for business performance reporting, ownership of the annual operating plan, and input and oversight into the development, progress, and outcomes of associated programs.
You will be part of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Phriendly Phishing with one direct report.
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly performance analysis, reporting and actionable commentary and insights
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to optimise revenue, profitability, and growth of the business P&L
  • Prepare and present long term financial forecasts and budgets in relation to developing future strategies for the business
  • Identify areas to improve business efficiencies and/or reduce costs
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial and SaaS metric data in revenue management tool (Chargebee)
  • Conduct extensive scenario modelling to inform strategic decisions on topics ranging from pricing to cash impact from changes to payment terms, product development investment ROI or changes in EBITDA based on different department spend/revenue strategies.
  • Manage accounting and finance-related technology from Xero to subscription management tool (Chargebee)
  • Financial Operations and Control
  • Working capital management
  • Lead the month end reporting process, working closely with the accountant responsible for financial control activities
  • Maintenance of the chart of accounts and integrity of master data for all financial cycles
  • Prepare and present high-quality data sets, including labour dashboards, reporting decks such as monthly business performance reporting and the annual operating plan, building KPI metrics, and build out daily cashflow analysis and dashboard
  • Setting of financial targets for sales and customer success to align to business objectives with responsibility for performance reporting for senior management
  • Review and reconciliation of quarterly commissions and bonus
  • Ownership of centralised Pricebook with Sales Ops Specialist
  • Build and maintain the operational processes and policies to ensure confident commercial rigour and growth, with a focus on profitability, including governance of new SKU’s, gross margin, and business expense approvals
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role with a dual blend of Commercial and Operations in a fast-paced business environment (SaaS, Cyber or Technology background will be highly regarded).
Additionally, you will also possess:
  • Revenue recognition principles and articulate differences between revenue recognised and key metrics such as ARR and MRR
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with an ability to build relationships with stakeholders across multiple levels
  • Strong presentation skills at senior executive level
  • Experience in complex data analysis, forecasting, reporting and communication of financial information to stakeholders in a way that tells a story
  • Advanced Excel skills and data manipulation ability exposure and or an interest in BI will be highly regarded
  • Able to effectively explain financial terms, processes, and metrics to those with a non-finance background
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build sustainable solutions and processes to meet complex operational problems
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred
