The role is focused on providing leadership, governance and expertise to support the Diploma of Nursing (DON) in providing best practice learning and development services in an environment of continuous improvement. Typical duties of the role include.
- Lead all academic matters within the Diploma of Nursing (DON) program
- Drive performance improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Encourage the adoption of best practices in learning and development systems, programs, and processes
- Management of the any advisory committees and any other groups as needed to discharge responsibilities
- Foster and contributing to the cultivation of a continuous quality culture within the program, aligning educational and practice development plans
- Ensure all education programs and services are in alignment with national training package requirements
- Ensure all programs are rigorously evaluated
- Support the Director of Education and Training in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans
- Provide operational leadership and management of a team of education professionals to achieve effective, efficient and best practice outcomes in education activities, programs, projects and initiatives
- Manage operational services including input to the budget, equipment and supplies procurement, scheduling of courses and staff, leadership of Education Leads
- Ensuring simulation capability is embedded across Mater Diploma of Nursing program to support high level and consistent delivery of simulation education and translational simulation
- Accountable for program design, delivery and evaluation
- Supporting the Director of Education and Training in growing Mater Education's profile
- Responsible for leading student engagement and retention strategies with the DON
- Responsible for operational budget and efficiencies
- Exceed compliance requirements set by regulatory frameworks such as AQSA, ANMAC, NMBA, and AHPRA, ensuring academic excellence and adherence to professional and business accreditation
- Monitor of regulatory requirements / changes of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation council and enacting appropriate changes to the DON program
- Complete and submit annual reports and submissions to accreditation bodies as required
- Actively build, develop and manage key strategic partner relationships across Mater Education, and Mater Group
- Facilitate research and industry engagement endeavours within the program,
- Actively contribute to academic, research, student, and course partnerships, fostering a collaborative atmosphere within the program
- Bachelor of Nursing and Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- High level of experience in leading and managing a team of education professionals
- Proven experience in managing cohorts of adult learners
- Experience in preparing ANMAC submissions
- Strong experience in developing resources for national training packages
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided
