The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will support the objectives for all operational areas including pilots, cabin crew and engineering, particularly in terms of staff engagement and communicating complex information to help employees perform their roles better. This role will also support the strategic communications strategy for Qantas CEOs including Domestic and International areas. This role manages a team of six that are embedded within the operations to plan and implement communications activities.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, the role also involves providing leadership and guidance on communications matters across the Qantas Group. The successful candidate will have strong corporate knowledge of portfolio areas and be able to provide crisis and issue management advice.

You'll have -

  • 8+ years' experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or equivalent

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling messages that provides all levels of employees with a clear message to the business strategy.

  • Proven experience in working with senior executive management.

  • Strategic understanding of communication and its role within a large organization.

  • Proven experience in a communication role and understanding of Internal Communications.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing constructive working relationships throughout an organisation

  • Ability to manage several programs simultaneously in a fast paced, industrial environment across multiple stakeholders
