Your New Role
The Senior Manager Risk and Compliance – Advisory and Assurance – Investments, is a primary point of responsibility and accountability for activities in the day-to-day line 2 Risk and Compliance oversight and challenge across the full business activities within the Investments team. The primary responsibility is to be a line 2 subject matter expert on the liquid elements of the Aware Super Investment portfolio across equities, fixed income, cash and understanding the investment challenges for each of these asset classes. You will have coverage across the unlisted asset classes of the portfolio including private equity, infrastructure and property deals including both co-investments and directly managed deals.
In this role you will also play a key role in managing Aware Super’s regulatory obligations arising from its investment portfolio both locally and internationally. In addition, you will be responsible for: line 2 assurance oversight of controls, obligations and incidents, line 2 controls testing and validation, advisory, guidance and escalation response for line 1 Investments teams and line 2 challenge across breach and incident management.
How do you exceed our expectations?
You will have demonstrated extensive experience preferably in a Line 1 or Line 2 Risk and Compliance role within funds management or superannuation investments teams. You will have a detailed understanding of buy side financial markets and the regulatory issues and industry standards, including a deep understanding of financial instruments including listed equities, fixed income and listed/OTC derivatives. You will bring a growth mindset with a focus on continuous learning and innovative problem solving. In addition, you will have:
An ability to leverage internal and external relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial solutions;
Strong risk awareness and be able to demonstrate a robust understanding of risk appetite, risk identification and mitigation strategies;
Experience in Aladdin, Bloomberg, and eFront, highly desirable;
Prioritization and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
