Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering Degree, Autodesk drafting certificates,
- Engineering registration,
- 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in Manufacturing and Machinery environment,
- Experience in autoCAD and inventor software in preparing 3D models and rendering,
- Broad knowledge of design standards, engineering systems, manufacturing operations, business tools and the flow of data,
- Supervision of employees.

General Responsibilities:
Provide Design & Engineering solutions in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within Norm Engineering:
- Execute manufacturing engineering to deliver high quality technical output on time. Provide technical subject matter expertise and support to the organization,
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance,
- Support the development of organizational engineering/technical skills to meet the site and division strategies and initiatives,
- Maintain the general engineering filing system and file all information relevant to the position and department,
- Focus on capability development for improved engineering techniques and BASELINES that add value to our products. Mature practices for documented technical standards around best practices and using lessons learned,
- Provide input to the development and implementation of STANDARD processes and tools for engineering tasks consistent with industry best practices. Review work in progress to assure adherence to defined processes,
- Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures,
- Participate in the objective planning process to support company, product and technology roadmaps & strategy,
- Overseeing software and process improvement projects,
- Supervision on engineering dept tasks, assigning work, checking work,
- Make recommendations on future product designs, material, strongly influence product costs, and capital investments,
- Produce written reports, Operating manuals, risk assessments, parts manuals, bulk material density forms, maintenance manuals, general dimensioned sketches & installation manuals,
- Become familiar with methodical approaches such as Lean, FMEA types,
- Support company initiatives.
- Production data management,
- Liaise with workshop on urgent orders,
- Ensure departments databases, filing, registers and naming conventions are followed and up to date,
- Ensure change management process is followed,
- Ensure minimal amount of re-work,
- Communication of the designs and methodologies to the workshop staff,
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers to oversee design, build, install and commissioning.
- Assist drafting or Junior staff with product knowledge or engineering procedures,
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training,
- Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions,
- Identify constraints & issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Perform any other duties requested by the General Manager or Directors.
