Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 8 year's experience in the Australian Building Services sector
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes
- Proven track record in design, documentation, and delivery of hydraulic services for commercial, retail, hotel, health, mixed-use residential, and infrastructure projects
Engineering General:
- Manage the Brisbane hydraulic department to achieve goals
- Mentor and train hydraulic staff
- Liaise with clients, architects, builders, and contractors
- Communicate with governing authorities on hydraulic infrastructure and approvals
- Stay updated on industry trends through meetings with suppliers and contractors and attendance at industry gatherings
- Design hydraulic services to meet Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia (BCA) requirements under the guidance of a Principal Engineer
- Prepare specifications, reports, and documentation as per standards
- Perform site visits for measurements, data logging, and observations
- Improve standard hydraulic specifications and design templates under supervision
- Prepare fee proposals and budget estimates under a Partner's supervision
- Conduct pre-project meetings to clarify scope, project description, tender conditions, completion dates, and responsibilities
- Attend client and design coordination meetings
- Set project deadlines, allocate priorities, and manage resources
- Monitor project progress and alert senior management of potential issues
Quality Control:
- Follow standard procedures and checklists
- Ensure all documentation is reviewed and approved before release
- Market to new and existing clients to maintain and develop project work
- Foster existing client relationships for repeat business
- Assist senior staff in project acquisitions
- Network with business associates for potential projects
