The Senior Media Planner/Buyer role is an in-house/client-side key role within the Viva Marketing Team, and is responsible for the Media Strategy, Planning and Buying for all brands under the Viva Leisure brand portfolio.

This role will be managing and developing the media strategy with the marketing department and will be using various media channels to reach our target audiences. This role has a strong focus on reaching existing members (retention) and prospecting potential members (acquisition) across the entire marketing and sales funnel.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

The essential skills & Competencies we are looking for:

  • Agency experienced looked upon favourably. We will actively consider outstanding remotely based candidates as well as Sydney and Canberra based applicants.
  • Desirable experience in Programmatic e.g. DV 360 and Affiliate Marketing.
  • Analytical and Strategic thinker.
  • Strong understanding of campaign set-ups, platforms and performance.
  • Numerate and able to understand, interpret and use complex and varied sources of data and statistics.
  • Strong communicators, able to simplify and explain complex plans and strategic thinking.
  • Well organised, with strong attention to detail and proficient at Excel.
  • Well informed about trends in media research and technological developments, and pro-active in
    translating these into new opportunities for clients.
  • Knowledgeable about their client’s business and market, and where and how advertising contributes to success.
  • Focused on the personal and professional development of their team.
  • A keen interest in the health and fitness industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help Build our Media Team:
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship of our newly created Media Team to ensure successful collaboration and achievement of team objectives.
  • Media Planning:
    • Develop comprehensive media plans aligned with business goals, ensuring optimal reach and resonance with our target audience.
  • Media Placement/Buying:
    • Oversee media placement and buying strategies, negotiating favorable deals to maximize the impact of our campaigns.
  • Guide the Greater Marketing Dept on All Things Media:
    • Act as a media expert within the broader marketing department, providing insights and guidance to enhance overall marketing strategies.
  • Data Management:
    • Implement robust data management practices, ensuring accurate and organized data to inform strategic media decisions.
  • Digital Experience:
    • Drive the digital experience strategy, staying ahead of industry trends to enhance our online presence and engagement.
  • Analytics and Reporting:
    • Utilise analytics tools to monitor and analyze media performance, providing regular reports and insights to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Work Closely with Campaign Manager:
    • Collaborate closely with the Campaign Specialist to align media strategies with broader campaign objectives, ensuring seamless integration.
