Join our oncology medical team and be part of fulfilling our ambition to be world leaders in oncology. We are already the fastest growing team within AstraZeneca and across the industry, and there are countless new indications and targets in our game-changing pipeline. We deliver this value through launch excellence, commercial effectiveness and maximising the lifecycle. By leveraging our commercialised portfolio we are confident we can change the practice of medicine and redefine cancer treatment.

We are currently looking for a Senior Medical Science Liaison or Medical Science Liaison based in Sydney, to manage NSW, QLD and WA. You will provide actionable information to key clinicians that enhances the value and appropriate use of AstraZeneca's products to internal stakeholders; respond to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of AstraZeneca's products and services and develop appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically differentiates AstraZeneca's products.

Essential for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (ex: Medicine, Pharmacy or disease related science)

• Extensive experience within Medical Affairs (ie MSL, SMSL or MM)

• Experience in pharmaceutical industry with knowledge of oncology disease area and treatment

• Experience with basic research, drug discovery, drug development and KOL interactions

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills 

• Excellent project management skills

• Excellent presentation skills

• High level analytical and conceptual thinking

• Strong leadership

• Ability to travel

• Completed Medicines Australia Code of Conduct training (up to date with Edition 19)

Desirable for the role

• Master’s degree/PhD/PharmD  in a scientific discipline or MD and extensive experience within Medical and previous team management experience; MBA

• Experience in Breast Cancer with established KOL relationships

• Knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory developments

• Experience in product launch or strategy development and execution

• Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication
