About Us:

Northparkes is a copper and gold mine located 27 kilometres north-west of Parkes, in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia. Our operation is made up of an underground block cave mine, a sub-level cave and an ore processing plant which produces copper concentrate for export. Northparkes mine boasts a world class analytical facility with a XRD laboratory and two automated mineralogy SEM laboratories, as well as sample preparation facilities.

About the role:

As our Senior Mineralogist (Metallurgist) you will be reporting to the Processing Superintendent. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the mineralogy team, the prioritisation of samples and both internal and external stakeholder engagement. 

As part of the broader mineral processing team, you will provide mineralogical expertise to plant metallurgists, initiate value adding mineralogy research for Northparkes, play a key role in the development and execution of the geometallurgical program, maintain routine processing evaluation programs and provide the Metallurgical Evaluation team and Mining teams with mineralogical data and interpretation. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and budget for the area.

About you:

You have a commitment to zero harm.

You have experience in TESCAN, MLA, QEMSCAN, or equivalent systems.

You have a thorough understand of XRD.

You have a Bachelor of Sciences in Geology (minimum) with at least 5 years’ experience in the field of process mineralogy.

Process mineralogy experience with exposure to sulphide flotation operations.

You can work autonomously, as well as part of a greater team.

You hold a current Australian drivers license.
