The Opportunity
Our client GEMCO, is located in the Northern Territory, on the West Coast of Groote Eylandt. They produce high grade Manganese Ore. The roles are being offered on an 8/6 FIFO roister from any capital city in Australia.
About The Role
The role of the Senior Mine Engineer is to provide the project with accurate and timely medium and short term mine planning systems and processes, to enable the business to meet its contractual production targets in a cost effective manner and seek opportunities to improve overall project performance.
Additionally, you will:
- Lead the engineering team (Surveyors, Drill & Blast Engineers and Mining Engineers)
- Preparation of fortnightly and 3 Monthly plans to provide the framework for effective weekly/daily planning.
- Assist the Technical Services Superintendent in preparing EOM reports, company quarterly forecasting and annual budget plans and reports.
- Involvement in LOM design revision and optimisation.
- 5 -10 years in a Short Term Planning and Drill & Blast role in an open pit mining environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining/Civil Engineering
- Implementation of mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site
- Strong Mining Software experience
- Strong Mine Scheduling Software experience
