Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world class zinc lead mine with a long future. You'll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.
About the role:
This role oversees the Mining Systems team at MRM, working closely with the team, stakeholders, vendors and other technology teams to ensure technical systems are fit for purpose and appropriate. The role will liaise closely with the Mining department, maintaining hosted infrastructure as well as maintaining a knowledge of various technologies to allow better business decision making.
Accountabilities:
- The sustainable implementation and integration of site technology.
- Documentation of implemented technologies and handover to BAU teams.
- Lead the Mine Systems team at McArthur River Mine
- Review, research, analyse, scope existing and new systems.
- Develop appropriate processes & use of operational systems to ensure data integrity enabling increased decision quality and timeliness.
- Develop site specific reporting to ensure key business measure are easily reportable and meaningful.
- Ensure site initiatives conform to governance principles and strategy.
- Actively participate in the technology & innovation governance process.
The ideal applicant for the role should possess:
- 5+ year experience in information systems, architecture, technology and innovation within the mining industry.
- Process mapping; project & change management experience.
- The desire to make a lasting contribution at MRM and the wider Glencore group.
