About The Role
Our Mining Engineers support our Underground Coal Mining Operations by providing assistance and completing specific tasks within the Technical Services Department.
Working a 9 day fortnight, this important role is based in Narrabri, NSW. This role will be offered a competitive salary + super + annual bonus.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a working knowledge of an underground longwall coal mine including spending time working as an underground crew member in LW and Development.
- Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of the various technical services functions – ventilation, gas drainage, gas monitoring, geotechnical, mine planning and associated management plans.
- Carry out assigned tasks in timely manner, error free.
- Identify opportunities to improve and communicate these to appropriate personnel.
- Gain proficiency in the software as required by the assigned tasks.
What You’ll Bring
- Australian Recognized Degree in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 5 years previous experience working as a Mining Engineer in underground coal mining
- Deputies ticket (desirable)
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly focused, motivated, and self-directed.
