Our client is an established government owned utility network provider in WA with exciting projects in the renewables space and are looking for a Senior Cloud Monitoring and Reporting Specialist for a Permanent role that is part of their new strategy for the next 10 years to decarbonize their electricity grid and provide a cutting-edge cloud technology environment.

37.5 hours per week
Perth CBD office location (WFH must be requested as per client's requirements) On-Site and remote work as required by our client.
On-shore applicants with full time works right only as candidates will be required to attend to office 3 times per week.
EA 8P, E3 Salary equivalent to $146,500 plus 11% superannuation on a permanent contract. The rate of pay is aligned with skills, experience, or expertise.
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for maximizing the use of our client's monitoring and asset tools by analyzing data, generating reports, and providing insights to drive operational efficiency within the organization.
Ensures platforms are metered, and transparent, to allow for a clear and concise understanding of asset costs and utilization optimization, to enable more informed decision making.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a clear presentation of the current state of infrastructure and cloud services, and assets, which enables the organisation to identify opportunities and allow for informed enhancement and investment decisions.
Through centralised visibility of the many existing, siloed monitoring and logging platforms, identify patterns, trends, and anomalies to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Identify and record relationships between IT systems and services, and the business applications they support, and store in a single source of truth to provide rich decision enhancing data to all IT processes and lifecycle stages.
Design and create regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate performance metrics, trends, and other relevant information to stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring systems, processes, and procedures, including setup instructions, troubleshooting guides, and best practices, to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Stay up to date with emerging monitoring technologies, tools, and industry best practices, and propose enhancements to existing monitoring processes and systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their monitoring and reporting needs and provide timely and relevant insights to support their decision-making processes.
Provide the ability to accurately track and monitor spend against budget to facilitate timely forecasting.
Implement robust standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry data privacy regulations, and our client's policies.
WORK EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Essential
Extensive understanding of information technology and industry trends
Significant experience in a large complex ICT environment with a strong focus on providing cloud, infrastructure, or application support services to service levels.
Strong analytical, problem solving and solution identification skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
Experience with infrastructure and/or cloud monitoring tools
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell etc.
Excellent customer focus background with commercial awareness and strategic thinking capability
Experience with service management toolsets such as ServiceNow
Desirable
Broad understanding of the electricity industry, business challenges, business processes and regulatory framework
Experience in a global business environment, including offshore delivery services
Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management frameworks
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell etc.
Experience with CMDB, asset discovery and service mapping toolsets and processes
Experience with software asset management toolsets such as Flexera
Experience with machine learning and/or AI Ops
Valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A'
Cloud Monitoring: Azure Monitor
Infrastructure Monitoring: Microfocus (Sitescope, BPM, NNMI, Ops Bridge), Bocada, VMware vROPS, VMware Aria Automation, CloudIQ, Grafana, Nozomi, Zabbix, Prometheus
Asset Management: ServiceNow and Microsoft SCCM. Ideally someone who can collate information from these 2 monitoring tools into Qlik Sense or ServiceNow reports/dashboards or Excel spreadsheets as a last resort.
EDUCATIONAL/QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology discipline plus at least 5+ years' experience or at least 8+ years' experience in Information Technology or related discipline.
Desirable
ITIL Service Management certification
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification
