We're seeking a Senior Network Planning Engineer to support our Network Planning and modelling, regulated investment business case development, and economic evaluation work.
Joining us in one of our main Australian offices (Brisbane/ Sydney/ Melbourne/ Perth or Adelaide) you will have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse national team of energy advisors who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and delivering our expertise solving intricate challenges supporting our clients across our region (and globally).
The projects you will be engaged on are based across primarily our energy client portfolio.
Your typical day would look like this:
- Support the scoping and delivery of network modelling, planning, and development advice related to power networks, including in the context of economic regulation to inform our clients decision making.
- Assist the development of proposals for power Network Planning, development, and modelling services.
- Assist with regulatory submission support to Distribution and Transmission Network Service Providers (DNSPs and TNSPs)
- Develop and run load flow models using modelling software including DIgSILENT Powerfactory, PSS Sincal, PSS/E
- Support the development of reports to clients on network studies, wind farm connection studies, MLF and DLF projections, and network investment justifications and business cases.

Job Profile
Our ideal candidate would have the following skills, experience, and attitude:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, majoring in Network Planning and power network studies, or a related field.
- Additional complementary experience or qualifications will be well-regarded.
- Established senior engineer with relevant industry experience
- A keen interest and understanding of power networks within Australia and power Network Planning.
- Knowledge and connectivity in Australian energy network asset owners and regulators.
- Your power network modelling skills using modelling software such as software including DIgSILENT Powerfactory, PSS Sincal, PSS/E will be advanced.
- Your analytical, computing (Python scripting), and spreadsheet skills will be advanced.
- Experience in a project environment providing quality technical knowledge and judgement and ability to lead small to medium size projects. Project management experience will be looked upon favourably.
