Are you passionate about shaping the future of energy networks? Powerlink is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the development of innovative network strategies and investment plans. As a Senior Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in steering the integrated development of our Transmission Network.
You will be a part of;
- Developing and recommending Powerlink’s 10-year Network Investment Outlook, Area Plans and Asset Strategies to inform investment decisions that enable our evolving network needs.
- Optimise Powerlink's capital and operational expenditure portfolio, focused on maximizing value for customers and the business.
- Guide the business and subject matter experts through technical requirements, financial assessments, and market engagement.
- Inform network development pathways and investments, considering factors such as the future energy landscape, augmentation requirements, asset condition and risk.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality Transmission Annual Planning Reports (TAPR) in compliance with the National Electricity Rules (NER) and enhance portfolio network asset risk activities.

To be successful in this role you will have Degree level qualifications in Electrical Engineering supported by relevant experience in a High Voltage network planning function.
You will also have;
- Proven experience in senior roles, developing high-level strategic plans and investment recommendations for diverse technologies.
- Ability to navigate stakeholder needs, investment demands, and broader factors, crafting cohesive high-level strategic and portfolio plans.
- Skilled in analysing cross-functional team recommendations, ensuring technical alignment with investment strategies.
- Experience in formulating forward-looking strategies aligned with future network needs and organizational objectives.
- Proficiency in using economic models for optimal Transmission Network development.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (such as Powerlink’s Transmission Authority, National Electricity Rules, Electricity Act)
- Track record of delivering projects, managing risks, and achieving objectives within defined timeframes.
- Able to thrive in complex technical environments, balancing stakeholder needs for optimal outcomes.
