About the Role:
The Senior Officer, Assessment Services, is responsible for providing professional, high quality administrative support to the Coordinator, Examinations and assists with the organisation and administration of external examination venues for Trimester end-of-unit assessment and exam events.
The position acts as a subject matter expert and provides advice and direction on all aspects of the management of external examination venues. The position is part of the functional unit responsible for general end-of-unit assessment administration and support and operates as a member of the overall Student Results and Assessment Services Group.
As a Senior Officer, Assessment Services, you will:
- Assist with co-ordinating all university trimester external examination venue bookings and administration processes and provide support for the delivery of online supervised examinations as directed, in accordance with published schedules and within a continuous quality improvement framework.
- Oversee negotiations related to the hire of national and international venues, supervisors, and equipment contracts (both directly and through Agents), including processes for the secure provision of the university's examination procedures and student data to the venues.
- Co-ordinate accurate recording and maintenance of exam venue records in the student management system and ensure payment and cost analysis activities are completed at the end of each assessment cycle.
- Develop and implement practical, accessible assessment solutions based on stakeholder needs, including overseeing student venue enquiries and the timely updating of exam location change requests.
- Act as a coach and work with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced, constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance, in alignment with Deakin's code of conduct and core university strategies and policies that promote a safe, sustainable, and productive working environment.
Qualifications and experience
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge in assessment practice or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
